IPRIFLAVONE AS A NATURAL REMEDY FOR OSTEOPOROSIS

What is Ipriflavone? Ipriflavone is also known as Yambolap. It is defined as a synthetic isoflavone substance which can be employed in the prevention of certain illnesses and diseases like osteoporosis, which is most common with women who have had mensuration. Contrary to popular belief, Ipriflavone does not cure or treat osteoporosis, what it does is to impede on the quick action of the osteoclasts, also known as bone wear down cells. This helpful action of the Ipriflavone assists with the mass building up of the human bones.

Ipriflavone has often been described to possess the attributes of a natural compound substance but, this is not true because Ipriflavone is a synthetic compound which is derived from the Isoflavone, also known as Daidzein, which is manufactured from soybeans. The popularity of Ipriflavone as a prescription drug is common in countries like Italy, Japan, and Turkey. It can also be found in health food stores, which can be sold independently or can be sold as an ingredient within calcium supplements which can be ostivone. Because of the fact that it is not a natural substance and therefore; not classified as an essential nutrient, it cannot be food in food substances.

The Ipriflavone has chemical structures which are somewhat related to a hormone-like an estrogen which is commonly found in women reproductive tract. This feat enables the substance to inhibit a bone debasing osteoclast activity, which can function without lactating the breast and the uterine muscle. Which can prove as a useful tool for preventing the risk of the human having cancer.

The Ipriflavone has continually been a research-based study and routine analysis keep being updated by researchers who continually conduct a series of double-blind placebo supervised research and currently a total number of 1,900 participants have been tested for the side effects of the substance on the many forms of osteoporosis which they are afflicted with.

Studies continue to display the result that when Ipriflavone is combined with enough calcium; it is capable of slowing down the progression of osteoporosis and in the long run, it may inverse the effects to a restricted extent and at the same time bringing a reduction on the pains experienced from the fractures.

A two year period case study being made on a total of 199 postmenstrual women indicated a gain in the bone concentration in the supplement group and a minor loss in the placebo group.

Another longer and largest case study made showed no gain or loss from the benefit of using the supplement.

Some, Ipriflavone researchers like Alexandersen P, Toussaint A, Christiansen C and a host of others; conducted a test to foresee how Ipriflavone could be used to treat osteoporosis in postmenopausal women. They tried this using a randomized trial nicknamed JAMA. Another case study conducted in 2001 employed the use of 478 postmenopausal women, the supplement, and the placebo groups experienced comparable results.

However, a change about this trial in comparison to JAMA was that the supplement employed in this test was not surfeited with 1000 milligram of calcium but the supplement in this test was added half of the 1000 milligram of calcium, which was administered to the women on daily basis.

A misrepresented disadvantage of this study was the failure to provide the women with vitamin D supplements, which is important for the immersion of the calcium formula. The Ipriflavone like all other prescription drugs has its own side effects after the prescription use. The popular side effects noticed about the drug is the constant digestive side effects and sometimes the side effects could also be experienced in the form of diarrhea, this is most common with patients who are more sensitive than the others.

Researchers made by Chiesi, which is a pharmaceutical company in Italy which produces Osteofix 200, have proven that the use of the drug by patients who are sensitive to the drug may produce in them side effects like skin rashes and itchiness. Other side effects may include gastrointestinal effects like vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, gastralgia, and dizziness. It is noteworthy to know, that though the side effects may seem so harsh it is not associated with everybody.

A study deduced from the 3000 people who used the drug showed no side effects and another report gotten from the largest trial in Europe proved that Ipriflavone can as well reduce the levels of white blood cells in the human body, which is also known as lymphocytes and this can lead to a compromise of the human immune system. This study had previously been proven first by Chiesi pharmacy which warns that a reduction in white blood cells and red blood cells have often been noticed.

As a result of the conspicuous side effects it produces in its patient, researchers have recommended that the drug should be avoided by pregnant and lactating women. Also, it advises that people who are suffering from situations which employ the use of drugs which are used to suppress immune deficiencies such as HIV/AIDS, severe kidney diseases, ulcers, corticosteroids, methotrexate, and cyclosporine to avoid the use of the drug. Ipriflavone is a drug that is meant to be taken alone and not with other drugs as taking it with other drugs could hinder the performance or even the drug performance itself in the liver of the host. As a result, drugs such as Theophylline; also used for curing asthma, Tolbutamide; used for curing diabetes, Dilantin/Phenytoin; used for epilepsy and Coumadin/Warfarin; used as a blood tanner, should be avoided at all costs when using Ipriflavone.

The reason for one having to avoid the use of such mentioned drugs as above is that the supplements are capable of altering the level of the drug in a patient body and could significantly increase the patient’s level of caffeine in a person’s body system, when such a person drinks coffee or any beverages that contain caffeine or cola beverages. It is advised that Ipriflavone is to be taken in recommended dosages as taking it in a minor amount or excess amount has its own malignant effects. The normal dosage for an Ipriflavone 200mg drug is three times a day after meal intake and sometimes it can be extended to 300mg if employed twice in a day.
